Soldiers of Haji Padsha Khan Zadran, who were defeated because they ran out of ammunition after two days of fighting, retreated on foot from a fort, in back center, which has been the frontline for two days of fighting in Gardez. Haji Padsha Khan Zadran is appointed governor of Paktia, who launched attack on Gardez against the stronghold of a rival warlord Saifullah.
