Aloudin Orphanage is home to more than 600 children who were abandoned by their parents or orphaned by several years of war. At night a roomful of children line up end-to-end across the floor to sleep on pallets and share blankets. As rough as their life in the orphanage is, many children who remain on the streets of Kabul with their parents are worse off.
