Dr. Rode did the reconstructive surgery on Baby Thsepang, an 8-month old baby that was raped by her father. The baby was brutally raped by her father in October 2001 in Loisevale, a poor colored area outside Upington, about 900 kilometers Northwest of Cape Town, South Africa. The country is struggling with increasing number of rapes and sexual abuse of young children and the country has the highest number of rapes in the world.
