"Animal Sacrifice" A woman washes her hands in the blood of a sacrificed animal. Valleys where they have annual pagan festivals are some of the most dangerous places in the Republic of Georgia. No priests or working churches are in this region. Every village has an elder with priest-like powers. People in this area battled Christianity all through the 11th, 12th, and 13th centuries in order to preserve their pagan ways.
