With their 3-year-old daughter Kiki in tow, Ed and Gary toast their union
among their oldest and dearest friends at a
restaurant two blocks from City Hall. Together for 18 years, the couple
nonetheless waited in line nearly 13 hours to win an appointment to be
married. 'For me, it was about Kiki, as everything always is,' says Ed,
45. 'So that she would have the experience of us getting married.... She
knows that we have a certificate and she was there and she saw it and she
knows what she was wearing. And whenever we put on suits she says, 'Oh you
look like you're getting married.' '
