Tamil civilians take military training in Kilinochchi, a stronghold of the rebels. Sticks and branches are used instead of guns, however rebels have distributed firearms to the civilian population.

For the long-suffering citizens of Sri Lanka, the 23-year civil war between the government and LTTE, or Tamil Tiger rebels, is a nightmare from which they cannot wake.
