| The civil war in the Ivory Coast started in 2002. The war has caused the lifes of several thousands civilians. There is a lack of the most basic medical treatement. The country is divided in two, the rebels (the New Forces) controlls the northern parts, and government army controlls the southern parts.There was a peace agreement in 2003, but the country is still divided in two, with UN and French peacekeepers at the green line. Doctors Without Borders (MSF) runs a hospital in the city of Man in the northern Ivory Coast. More than 200 000 people are depending on the hospital as their only source of healtcare and surgery.
