Last Ones: The Ne-ne goose
Hawaii's state bird, the Ne-ne goose, is threatened by hunters and introduced predators. The US Fish and Wildlife service recently gave Ne-nes a helping hand by putting breeding geese in pens, restoring native plants, and closing off some parts of its range to visitors.
