"Thai Anti-Government Protests"

From March to May 2010, a prolonged series of political protests occurred in Bangkok, Thailand. Repeated negotiations between the anti-government "Red Shirt" protesters and the government failed to set an election date. In April the "Red Shirts" seized the most popular shopping district in the capital. On May 19, 2010 the Army was sent in to clear their encampment. By the time it was all over, thousands were left injured, over 80 killed and Bangkok was left burning.
