Lene Palfelt hugs her daughter Laura. ”Before I was diagnosed with cancer I thought that I was a down-to-earth, level-headed kind of person. But your perception of life is pushed to extremes in a process like this, and I have discovered that I am actually fundamentally positive. I have focused on the good things and I do not need pity. Our grief was the worst, but when that subsided it did not need to be all bad. We have used humour a lot throughout the process. And we have to put it behind us now. It was in 2014 that I had cancer.”
