"Cane Worker" This sugar cane migrant worker is a war refugee from the south of Sudan. Almost half of Sudan's GNP is still from agriculture. Agriculture is what allowed the Northern Govt. of Sudan to pay Osama Bin Laden to build their most modern infrastructure. Although this is the largest country in Africa, Sudan's people are impoverished, so they could not pay Osama cash--they took income from the sharecropping of the Gezira scheme to pay the bills for roads and airports.
