New Orleans City Council Member Cynthia Willard-Lewis
throws a wreath off the Claiborne Avenue Bridge into the Industrial Canal in
memory of those who lost their lives in the Lower Ninth Ward on the one-year
anniversary of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans Tuesday morning. In the
background was the site of the break in the Industrial Canal levee which
flooded the Lower Ninth Ward. Willard-Lewis, family lost 11 homes to
Hurricane kiatrina. who was a resident in the Lower Ninth Ward, lost property
in the catastrophe.
