Kosi River burst its embankment in Nepal in late August 2008 flooding most of Bihar, one of India’s poorest state. A month later India’s worst ever flood continues devastate the land. While millions of refuges wait for the water to recede, the river is still 30 kilometers wide and flows outside its original course.
