"Remembering Freedom isn't Free" Army veteran Mike Bowen, 57, can be seen running through the Flint area carrying a POW/MIA flag. His goal: one mile for every 58,226 Americans that was killed or is missing in the Vietnam war. 'We've got to remember that freedom isn't free and that we've got to respect our veterans right now, and in the future and in the past. A lot of guys just gave it up. It's a good feeling. A lot of people just come up to me and thank me for remembering.' Bowens said. He has been doing it with this sole purpose since 1982, after a visit to the Vietnam Wall, and run more than 46,500 miles, and figures he'll finish by about age 65 if all goes well.
